...will help for more torque an smooth rpm. so i'd upgraded a pair of 40 idf webers with 32mm venturies and bigger jets. the carburators are 15.000 km old and plenty in shape.

yesterday i start to build up the landmaschinenmotor for his new castle. don't worry about the dump look, but i have no time anymore to sandblast the shell and powdercoat it. i just want to have the airbus ready to run in the next 4 weeks to build up the racecar to the upcoming season in may...

...is done. i've finished the cockpit in wiring the gauges, hifi, tach and mounted the glovebox. i also have finished the paintjob in room behind the cockpit.
so the other big steps will be to put the new engine in place and tune up the suspension and breaks.
i believe to hit the road very early in 2007 - we will see.

today, i worked on the correct stance and the right size of the rims...
holly grap, it's quit not easy for a taste of breath if 7x15" fuchs under the rear of the microtruck...
it's not very funny to work on an unrestored 30 year old car - but i'll never capitulated

after remove the frontbeam and welded to an adjustable one, i watched out through my stock and found some nice goodies to put them into the AIRBUS....

nice autometer monster 5" with shift- and oillight, 3" simpson harnesses and an empi bus shifter ...

yesterday, i start a shopping tour to austria. in case to find something special, i towed my trailer with me....:-)



on the highway to villach, i read "Gmünd 27 km" and remembered, there was anything in past...



so i decided to ask the man in this sweet little barn, if he want to sell me something old and cheap to make me happy....



he showed me some nice parts, models, tools, batches and cars and did some smalltalk about the good old days (working, travelling, developing and racing)...
after 4 hours of amazing and very impressive stories, i decided to put one of the nice parts on my trailer and turned way home ....:-)



now, i've got a small "to do list", but i guess this would be the right towcar for the coming dragracing season....

I've finished the car right in time. we arrived on thursday to settle down in the paddock and managed the tech. inspection for the public race class.

about 33 spectators competed this year in the public class, with lots of very fast and interesting cars.
the weather was no summer like, rain out on friday, one qualifying run on saturday and the eliminations on sunday.
i dialed in the last set up of bitburg, without to know what will happen with the new
becker-performance in the back of my "kwicki" - whatch out the vid! ;-)

traction was professional, so i could use much more tirepress and less launch revs for the further runs.

i'd to compete in the 1st eli-round against the hot rodded '32 ford coupe which has an outbrake of 11,933 e.t. in the qualifying.

i'd lose in a head to head race with 0,232 sec. - bad luck, but lots of fun - that's dragracing, i like it!

after i'd killed one of my heads at the t&t event in bitburg on july, i had both hands to work for the main event to replace the heads into a pair of reworked by mr. bug-dragracing "udo becker".

we are back home from the bitburg survival weekend. fucking cold temps, heavy rain and nice wind if you're a windsurfer - not a drag racer...
friday and saturday, there's no races but familiar bbq's with the buddies gero and the "gallier".
today, very cold but dry - competiton could go.
we tested the new installed launch control and want to get an indicator for the actually gear ratios. so we set the throotle on 80% of max. flow and the shift point about 400 rpm down the race set up.

so we did 3 runs and damaged another gearbox this season - anything is wrong on a bearing, so the final testrun on racecondition wasn't possible :-(

the first shoot out, street-eliminator germany, was held last weekend on the airbase in eisenach-kindel.
it was an amazing event, perfect organisation, lot's of crazy guys, many fun and heavy races....
i was racing the black natter and i'm very happy about the 6th place in the middle of the super gas competitors....

today, markus put his oval from the paintbox, so we are waiting for him and put it on the chassis. good job, heinz! smooth color, i like it....
